Challenge

The construction of a new-generation plant marked a major milestone for our customer, necessitating the transport of heavy and bulky equipment from Europe to Asia. From November 2022 to March 2024, the project required numerous shipments from various European locations. Every aspect of the logistics chain—from equipment collection to packing and shipping—had to be meticulously managed to meet stringent deadlines while ensuring quality and safety.

Solution

To address this challenge, the Logfret team handled all aspects of logistics, including pre-transport preparation, material removal, packaging, and loading into containers for sea or air transport, using a tailored approach. Logfret meticulously monitored each stage, from collection to loading, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the process. This oversight ensured a seamless transition through the logistics chain until the equipment arrived at the factory.

Results

Spanning a year and a half, the project involved moving nearly 300 crates and 50 containers by air, sea, and road, totaling 700 tonnes. This extensive logistics operation highlighted Logfret’s capability to manage complex, large-scale projects and strengthened our trusted partnership with the customer, a prominent player in the metallurgical sector. Logfret’s responsiveness, precision, and expertise in handling both packaged and unpackaged equipment were crucial to the project’s success, marking a significant achievement in the customer’s development.
